One nucleotide in a (sub K) B site can determine cofactor specificity for NF- (sub K) B dimers
Article Abstract:
Studies done to demonstrate that the sequence of the (sub K) B site does play a significant role in determining (sub K) B family member specificity using a lentivirus-based methodology for implantation of gene regulatory sequences is reported. But rather than determining the ability of a particular dimmer to bind effectively, it was found that the sequence of the (sub K) B site affects which coactivators will form productive interactions with the bound NF- (sub K) B dimmer, suggesting that binding sites may impart a specific configuration to bound transcription factors.

Structure of the Rab7:REP-1 complex: insights into the mechanism of Rab prenylation and choroideremia disease
Article Abstract:
The structures of the REP-1 in complex with monoprenylated and C terminally truncated Rab7:GDP are reported. Further, the structures of apo-Rab7 in the GDP- and GppNHp bound states that provide detailed information on the nature of nucleotide-dependent interaction of RabGTPases with REP proteins is presented.
