Two whitebacked planthopper resistance genes in rice share the same loci with those for brown planthopper resistance
Article Abstract:
The whitebacked planthopper (WBPH), Sogatella furcifera, and brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens Stal, are important sucking insects of rice crops throughout the world. The recombinant inbred lines (RIL) explained that two WBPH resistance genes share the same loci as Qbp1 and Qbp2 with molecular markers distributed on 12 rice chromosomes.

Genetic architecture of resistance to aphids and mites in a willow hybrid system
Article Abstract:
The genetic architecture of resistance in a willow hybrid system was examined to understand the relative contribution of genetic effects in influencing plant resistance to arthropods. Additive and nonadditive genetic effects were found to be important in explaining the difference between willow species in resistance to aphids and mites.

Interval mapping for loci affecting unordered categorical traits
Article Abstract:
A method is developed for interval mapping of loci affecting unordered categorical traits with more than two categories. As results of analyses of simulated data show, the method showed high efficiency in detecting the loci affecting unordered categorical traits.
