Urbanization and child growth in Nepal
Article Abstract:
It is estimated that almost 50% of children in many urban areas of developing countries live in extreme poverty. A study was conducted in Nepal in a population of carpet-making workers' children. Researchers examined differences in health care, diarrheal morbidity, breastfeeding practices, and socioeconomic characteristics. The results showed that children of long-term migrants had better growth status compared to those who were recent migrants.
