Utilization of the plant hormone indole-3-acetic acid for growth by Pseudomonas putida strain 1290
Article Abstract:
An initial description of Pseudomonas putida strain 1290, a bacterial isolate with the unique ability to utilize indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) as a sole source of carbon, nitrogen, and energy is presented. The results revealed a biological role for strain 1290 as a sink or recycler of IAA in its association with plants and plant-associated bacteria.

Spatial and temporal expression of Lactobacillus plantarum genes in the gastrointestinal tracts of mice
Article Abstract:
The levels of Lactobacillus plantarum in the gastrointestinal tracts of the mice are increased after 4 hours following ingestion. This was linked with the increased expression of invivoinductible genes associated with the expression of Lactobacillus plantarum.
