Article Abstract:
An NCR 2160 restaurant control system has been installed at more than fifty Papa Gino's restaurants. This modular system consists of point of sale terminals, a minicomputer to control the system and record data and remote printers that print parts of an order in different sections of the kitchen. This system contains features such as the recording of orders in memory, programming of information by the users and control over the cash flow. The use of this system has resulted in the control over food costs, better and faster service to customers, increase in cashier operation and statistical control for corporate management.

Easier Life for Restaurant
Article Abstract:
An Australian restaurant chose a Canon CX-1 desktop computer to simplify its accounting work. A service bureau could no longer cope with the restaurant's 700 credit card holders. The Canon now handles the general ledger, payroll and monthly accounts on the system, and it has cut the statement processing time from three weeks to one. The restaurant has found the computer good in all respects except the manual.
