An Examination of Differences Between Organizational Legitimacy and Organizational Reputation
Article Abstract:
The US commercial banking industry is used to illustrate public, regulatory, and financial dimensions of organizational reputation and legitimacy. While isomorphism was found to increase legitimacy, its impact on reputation depends on that reputation. Improved financial performance was found to improve reputation but not necessarily legitimacy.
