Representatives from Israel and Arab countries completed the ninth round of the Middle East peace talks on May 13, 1993, but little progress was made. Several delegations criticized the US for its inability to persuade Israel to give up control of the West Bank and other areas.

Palestinians agree to resume peace talks

Palestinians and representatives from Jordan, Lebanon and Syria agreed to resume the Arab-Israeli peace talks on Apr 27, 1993, in Washington, DC. The Palestinians agreed to stop insisting on the return of about 400 deported Palestinians as a pre-condition to the talks.
