Qantas beefs up its IT for direct booking

Qantas spends approximately $300 million annually on information technology. Customer service and internal information technology systems are becoming year 2000 compliant. Qantas' electronic ticket system is appreciated by customers and staff. Data and voice communication network improvements will take place between 1998 and 2003 for $200 million Australian.

Regal Hotels attracts weary analysts of neglected sector

Regal Hotels International Holdings Ltd., the Hong Kong hotel company, is drawing the interest of securities analysts and mutual fund managers.
