Corporate portals open ways to knowledge-sharing
Article Abstract:
The Autonomy Corp., which has launched several information-retrieval systems in Australia, has developed a new corporate portal named Portal-in-a-Box. The portal is a Web site that gathers information on one page. The system matches patterns, and not words, within documents to eliminate extraneous data. The retrieval process uses natural language and mimics the operation of the human brain.
