Article Abstract:
Post-appointment of Ben Bernanke as the 14th Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the performance of each federal chairman, starting for the year 1914, the economic conditions based on nominal gross domestic product (GDP), inflation, unemployment, etc. during each of the regimes, and the price performance of the Standard and Poor's 500 in the six and twelve months, under each of the federal leaderships, are discussed. The outlook on equities in 2006, reaction to Financial Accounting Standards Boards (FASB) decision to mandate inclusion of stock option in operating earnings, the forecast and recommendations for energy, health and financial sectors in the year 2006, are also discussed.
