Bidirectional information transfer: an imperative for network and marketing integration in a Canadian telecommunications firm
Article Abstract:
Integration between marketing and R&D departments is important to sustain competitiveness and the pace of product development. However, a study conducted on a Canadian telecommunications company revealed that marketing and R&D managers have divergent views on the ideal levels of bidirectional information transfer and integration. Nonetheless, they agreed that marketing departments should be actively involved in establishing service development schedules, information transfer on competitors' moves, customer requirements for new services, service limitations and optimal service performance and service pricing.
