Iron ore booms from Asian recovery

Demand for Australian iron-ore from steel and iron producers has increased following the restoration of Asian markets and a buoyant world economy. It is anticipated iron-ore exports will rise to 175.1 million tonnes by 2005 compared to 135.2 million in 1999. Over $3 billion is planned to be invested in the industry.
