Several hundred thousand Christians in Lebanon boycotted the opening round of parliamentary elections on Aug 23, 1992. The boycotters claimed that the elections, the first ones since 1972, were manipulated by Syria.

Voters in the Kesrouan district of Lebanon completed the first parliamentary elections since 1972 on Oct 11, 1992, when they elected five deputies. Most Christians in Lebanon boycotted the election.
