Universal chief quits in wake of movie flops
Article Abstract:
Casey Silver, chairman of Universal Pictures, the movie unit at Universal Studios Inc. and owned by Seagram's, resigned. Now the reorganized executives will try to reverse the effects of the streak of movie flops that Universal has had for the last 18 months. Future plans include sequels, remakes and big budget "events" signed off on by Silver before his departure. Since the second Babe movie was one of the flops, Babe III will probably be scrapped.
