Heidrick & Struggles postpones plans for initial offering amid weak market

Heidrick & Struggles Inc. has put off its plans for an initial public offering due to a weakened IPO market. The company had initially planned to offer a minority share to the public. Heidrick & Struggles was hoping that an IPO would raise up to $86.25 million. The company decided to wait for a more opportune time in the IPO market to hold an IPO. Company officials would not estimate as to when an IPO would be rescheduled.

Cendant Corp. sues Ernst & Young, charging firm failed to detect fraud

The suit might invite a counter-suit; Cendant filed suit against Ernst & Young that the accounting firm says should be the other way around. Cendant claims that E&Y was not thorough enough in its audit of CUC, the firm that merged with Cendant in late 1997.
