Bob Jeffrey, the new president of J. Walter Thompson USA's New York office, was appointed to the post in March 1998 by the agency's CEO Chris Jones. Mr. Jeffrey formerly worked for Lowe & Partners/SMS. At Lowe, he served as executive vice president and as managing director of the San Francisco office. Mr. Jeffrey hopes to turn Thompson around by changing the agency's image of account turnovers, review shortfalls, and instability in its executive levels.
