Chrysler net rises 54%, beating forecasts
Article Abstract:
Chrysler Corp. has announced that its third-quarter net earnings surpassed forecasts by increasing 54.6 %, resulting in net third-quarter profits of $682 million. The company, which reported a drop in its warranty expenses and other costs, also announced that the introduction of its redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee has been well received by customers. Industry analysts have said that Chrysler, which will merge next month with Daimler-Benz AG, did not greatly benefit from the recently-settled General Motors Corp. auto workers strike.
