Article Abstract:
Qantas Airlines plans to expand its business in Asia has come true after British Airways decided to sell its 18.25% stake which it has in the Qantas Airlines. This decision has a wide impact on the airlines share price, its board and most importantly its strategy. It will increase the company's S&P/ASX 200 weighting from 0.73% to 0.90% and this would bring in an extra $70 million of interest from index funds and will qualify Qantas for inclusion in the Morgan Stanley Capital Index (MSCI) for Australia.
