Coke's bottled-water launch, Dasani, is likely to spur growth of U.S. market
Article Abstract:
Coke will finally launch its own bottled water in the U.S. competing with Perrier's Poland Spring, Danone's Evian and Pepsi's Aquafina. Dasani will come in three sizes, 20 oz., one liter and l.5 liters. The 20-oz. size will be found at convenience stores and gas stations by April or May, the size with the best profit margin. Bottled water sales were up 10% overall last year, and for single-serving bottles, sales were up 30%. Coke's Dasani is expected to do very well because of its distribution network, even though it is late to enter the bottled water market.

Key HBO executive quits before merger with McKesson
Article Abstract:
Jay P. Gilbertson, co-president, co-COO and CFO at HBO & Co. resigned just one month after McKesson Corp. announced its acquisition of the software supplier. Both firms service the health-care industry, McKesson being a drug wholesaler. Questions include why Gilbertson chose this particular time to depart, and whether or not the two firms even make for a good merger.
