Clinton signs insurance FCC tax bill
Article Abstract:
Pres Clinton was criticized by some for signing a bill written to allow self-employed people to deduct a portion of their health insurance costs, and also provides a tax break to News Corp. Ltd. in its sale of two television stations to the Tribune Co. and African American-owned Quest.

Congress approves fiscal 1996 omnibus spending bill; Clinton promises to sign measure

Pres Clinton said he would sign a $159.4 billion spending bill approved by the Republican-conrolled Congress. The bill funds federal agencies and cabinet-level departments, and provided the additional funding for social programs Clinton requested in order not to veto the spending bill.

Clinton signs striker-replacement ban

Pres Clinton signed an executive order that prohibits the government from contracting with firms that fire their employees who strike legally. The order applies to firms that receive contracts with a value of at least $100,000.
