Article Abstract:
The decision of AMP's retail shareholders not to take part in its rescue plans shows lack of faith in the company, its board and management, which strengthens fear in the market that a de-merger of the British and Australian operators is not a good deal. The company kept its important details disclosed in the market, which led AMP in seeking for a buyer for its troubled British businesses.
