A federal judge ruled on Feb 21, 1995, that the Presidential Legal Expense Trust does not have to make its finances public. The Trust was set up in Jun 1994, to help the Clintons pay their personal legal costs related to the Whitewater scandal and a sexual harassment suit.

Fox promises candidates free air time

Fox Broadcasting Chmn Rupert Murdoch said the network would allow presidential candidates 40 minutes of free air time closer to the Nov 1996 election in an effort to spur the reform of campaign financing. Critics claim Murdoch's actions are politically motivated.

The Federal Election Commission released financial reports on the presidential campaigns of George Bush, Bill Clinton and H. Ross Perot. Clinton's campaign had more debts and less cash than either of the other two campaigns.
