Verbal versus realistic pictorial representations in conjoint analysis with design attributes
Article Abstract:
The communication of ideas in the new product development process lends itself better to verbal representations of ideas than the realistic photo representation technique. This is manifested in the relative homogeneity of responses to verbal descriptions of product design options, which lends itself to accurate predictions about the product's potential in the market. Pictorial representations of the product tend to diffuse the responses that break into several segments, offering little predictive accuracy in terms of the market potential of the designs.

From experience: linking available resources and technologies to create a solution for document sharing - the early years of the WWW
Article Abstract:
Technology integration played a vital role in the development of the World Wide Web (WWW). The World Wide Web was created in response to a need by researchers to establish a global network that would enhance the interchange of documents stored in diverse formats on a wide array of computer platforms. Such need was satisfied by integrating technologies, such as development tools and document formats, that are believed to be capable of producing a product that will enhance sharing of information among researchers.
