Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the growth of Emerge CMC, a multi-faceted online service provider, are presented. Reference is made to the successful application for a Federal Government BITS incubator grant by Emerge, Babcock and Brown, and the Greyhair Group. Emerge is the biggest shareholder in their consortium known as the Australian Distributed Incubator.

Article Abstract:
A humorous account that the goods and services tax (GST) may get a better reception if its name is changed. The current excise tax is in essence a tax on services and yet it has been accepted. The tax on banking services, stamp duty, car registration are all forms of GST that have been in force for a while.
