Financier Nadir flees to Turkish Cyprus

Former Polly Peck International Chmn Nadir flew to northern Cyprus after jumping bail in the UK on May 4, 1993. Nadir had been charged with false accounting and theft. The fleeing of Nadir illustrated the Serious Fraud Office's inability to prosecute major fraud cases.
