First Interstate accepts buyout

First Interstate Bancorp announced on Nov 6, 1995, that it would accept a friendly takeover bid by First Bank System for $9.8 billion. The acquisition will create the US's 9th largest bank with $92 billion in assets. An earlier $10.4 billion hostile offer from Wells Fargo was rejected.

Rockefeller Center accepts Goldman bid

Rockefeller Center Properties Inc agreed on Nov 7, 1995, to a $1.2 billion offer from Goldman, Sachs & Co. to purchase Rockefeller Center. An earlier offer by a consortium led by Sam Zell to purchase the 22-acre complex for $1.16 billion was rejected.
