The good news on salaries is that economists are predicting pay rises well beyond the rate of inflation in 2004, the lead indicator with salaries being the economy and equity market. Accountants with stagnant salaries over the past two years can now be optimistic, as Jason Johnson, partner in the executive recruiting firm Highland Partners, has estimated that accountants would get 50% bonuses of their fixed salary.
