It's time for forecasts to be less important
Article Abstract:
The importance of forecasting is downplayed relative to other aspects of a manufacturing business' operations. Among the other areas cited as more important than sales forecasts are suppliers' reliability, suppliers' responsiveness, design-for-manufacture, information systems, material resource planning II and statistical variability. Forecasts should not be used as an excuse to defer addressing these critical business issues.

Article Abstract:
Business forecasts may be used to determine economic damages in lawsuits involving the reduction or elimination of a client's income.
