Identification of the critical factors of TQM
Article Abstract:
A comparison was conducted of the methods advocated by experts on total quality management (TQM) to determine the common factors that guarantee a successful implementation of this strategy. A survey was conducted to 200 managers to identify criteria which they believed were important to TQM implementation. The managers cited factors such as corporate culture, quality improvement measurement systems, operational quality planning and the creation of teamwork structures as essential to TQM.

Development and validation of TQM implementation constructs
Article Abstract:
A comparison was made of total quality management (TQM) strategies to identify common factors among these strategies. Surveys of TQM literature found that 12 constructs were common to all TQM strategies and these included customer focus, design quality management, benchmarking, statistical process control usage and employee empowerment. A survey of corporations confirmed the use of these constructs in their implementation of TQM.

Swiftness and intensity of administrative innovation adoption: an empirical study of TQM in information systems
Article Abstract:
Research into Total Quality Management (TQM) in systems development is presented. It is concluded that TQM adoption in systems development is determined by the host firm's quality orientation and factors internal to the information systems department.
