Intel's antitrust alternative: avoid public confrontation
Article Abstract:
Intel Corporation stated that it was cooperating with the US government in its antitrust investigation of the computer chip maker. Intel's antitrust strategy differs greatly from Microsoft Corp.'s. Microsoft employed influential lobbyists and conducted rallies and news conferences to criticize the government's antitrust probe of the software giant. Intel has not made many public statements since the government sued the company. The company is attempting to avoid any direct confrontation with the Federal Government.

Microsoft suit pushed back until Oct. 19
Article Abstract:
A Federal judge pushed back the starting date of the antitrust trial against Microsoft Corporation until Oct. 19. The judge also ordered Microsoft to comply with the Justice Department's request to examine the company's financial records. Microsoft's lawyer said that the Justice Department was, "trying to turn this into something approximating a plenary monopoly case like the I.B.M. case." Microsoft entered a formal motion asking for another two week delay.
