Small companies that do not live up to the promises of their initial public offering prospectuses are dismissed summarily. Companies such as Becker Corporation and Sausage Software have needed to go public to grow but haven't kept investor confidence. Some organizations are not managed in a manner expected of public companies. The issues behind the success if IPOs are discussed.

he Salteri family, owner of Tenix, and the Belgiorno-Nettis family, owner of Transfield, ran a united business empire before separating in 1996. The defense industry is attractive to both companies despite its risks because the government interaction provides many business opportunities. Both companies have similar profit and revenue figures and plan to diversify.
