Island schemes raided
Article Abstract:
Australian Crime Commission and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) are investigating what could be tax avoidance and criminal tax-evasion schemes on the island of Labuan, off the coast of Borneo. The island has been raided many times by ATO. The reasons for the popularity of the island as the tax haven are also discussed.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is on rampage, catching tax criminals with the support of federal law enforcement authorities. ATO is not sparing solicitors' and accountants' offices either and everybody is tense, as they do not know who the next victim will be.
