The accounting firm consildator Gilman and Ciocia has achieved success by focus its acquisitions on smaller firms. The strategy has enabled the company to build its market capitalization to $100 million and its assets under management to $5 billion. Gilman and Ciocia does not tend to make large-scale changes to the accounting firms it acquires because most these smaller shops already tend to be cost efficient.
