Natural gas (diversified) industry
Article Abstract:
Consolidation in the natural gas industry has continued in the late 1990's, and this is likely to continue giving merged companies greater growth and return potential along with increased earnings. However, a warm 1998 winter will have a negative impact on the industry, although the global warming pact signed in Kyoto, Japan will be positive in the future. Few gas stocks are timely in 1998, but several are growth prospects through 2000-2002.

Natural gas (diversified) industry
Article Abstract:
The production of natural gas in the late 1990s is expected to be below the levels the gas industry has seen earlier in the decade with lower prices and other factors. There is also a larger inventory of natural gas resulting from the mild 1998 winter and heating season, and several companies have agreed to become aquired to increase earnings potential. These stocks are not timely in 1998 and investors must be selective.
