Nikkei plummets to five-year lows

The Nikkei average of 225 stocks fell 14.2% between Mar 31, 1992, and Apr 9, 1992. This was the lowest level of the Nikkei average since Feb 1987. The loss in value of bank stocks was a leading contributor to the situation.
