Nuclear nonproliferation pact extended indefinitely

The Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty was signed by officials from 174 countries on May 11, 1995 in New York, NY. Nuclear and non-nuclear nations had differences over the treaty, but reached a compromise. The treaty will have a permanent extention and nuclear nations will slowly disarm under its terms.

Everglades restoration pact reached
Article Abstract:
Sugar-cane growers agreed to contribute $465 million to an environmental restoration plan for the Florida Everglades. The sugar-cane industry and other agricultural growers had drained water from the Everglades for many years. The plan would increase the Everglades' fresh water by 25%.

Air Canada scraps merger pact with PWA

Air Canada officials on Nov 3, 1992, reported that the pre-merger agreement with PWA, the parent company of Canadian Airline International, thrown out. The Air Canada officials said that another agreement would be unlikely.
