Miller sues Bates and Zenith Media over ad shortfalls
Article Abstract:
Miller Brewing Co. has filed a lawsuit in Milwaukee's US District Court against Bates Advertising USA and Zenith Media Services claiming lost free broadcast time cost the company $6.9 million. Free broadcast time is normally obtained for companies by their ad agencies if the ads fail to reach a designated number of viewers. Miller, which has an estimated media and planning operation of more than $300 million, fired the two ad agencies in 1996 and accuses them of negligence in failing to secure such credits.
