Opposition unveils wage-reform plan

A coalition of the Liberal and National Parties in Australia, on Oct 20, 1992, revealed a labor-market plan that it will establish if it wins control in the May 1993 elections. The proposal resembles the plan the coalition party in the state of Victoria has promised to implement.

Aboriginal land claims plan proposed

Australia proposed legislation to make land leased between 1975 and Jun 30, 1993, exempt from aboriginal land claims until the leases expired. Both the Aborigines and the mining industry were opposed to the legislation.
