ITT Industries' net expected to be below analysts' estimates
Article Abstract:
ITT Industries Inc. announced that it is expecting to post lower-than-predicted earnings for the second-quarter of 1998. The company is expecting lower earnings primarily because of the ongoing strike at General Motors Corp. ITT said that the strike will cost the company approximately $9.6 million in earnings. The strike led to a reduction in demand for ITT's auto segment. Analysts had forecasted earnings of 69 cents per share.
