Using a simulated annealing algorithm to schedule activities of resource-constrained projects
Article Abstract:
A simulated annealing algorithm was utilized to address the resource-constrained, randomized activity duration project scheduling problem. The algorithm involves the use of two heuristics, namely the Composite Allocation Factor method and the Minimum Slack First method, to form initial feasible solutions. Such process was effective in the establishment of a schedule that lessens the total time needed to complete a project.

Utilization of influence diagram for the design and integration of the construction and measurement control environment
Article Abstract:
The use of the influence diagram in the design and integration of the construction and measurement control environment is detailed. Specifically, the influence diagram is useful in identifying control elements and the flow of information needed by the integrated control information system. Steps in facilitating the integartion of the control information system are also offered.
