Naturalizer chose Sam Shahid to spruce up the shoe's dowdy image with a revamped campaign featuring young women in bikinis and high heels. While redesigning their shoes, the company is also targeting a younger customer via a $12 million campaign. Naturalizer believes Shahid will be their winning ticket, as he was for Calvin Klein's Brooke Shields billboards in the 80s.

Marketers try to burnish Olympics' image

The U.S. Olympic Committee, battling an image of corruption and bad behavior has hired Landor Associates and Goodby Silverstein and Parters to promote interest in the games, reach out to youth, and, of course, woo sponsors. Olympic athletes will be featured in ads this summer to try to brand the Olympics into the public mind for more than just 17 days. A line of Olympic-related caps, vests and jackets will also be marketed.

Sears drops 'softer side' for 'the good life'

Sears, Roebuck is unveiled a new advertising campaign for print and television, "The Good Life at a Great Price. Guaranteed." The nation's second-largest retailer is focusing on private label brands for customers in the mid-tier range. Sears will also promote it's Premier credit card and attend to more price cuts on apparel. Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago and Young & Rubicam are working directly together on the project.
