Slower growth, higher deficit predicted
Article Abstract:
Canadian Finance Minister Donald Mazankowski on Dec 2, 1992, presented the House of Commons with an economic proposal that would cut government spending by $6.1 billion. Mazankowski stated that economic growth would be slower and the federal deficit larger than he had predicted earlier.

IMF projects slow world growth in '93
Article Abstract:
An IMF report predicts that the total world economic growth rate in 1993 will be 2.2%. Its projected US growth rate is 3.2%. The IMF praised Pres Clinton's deficit-reduction plan but recommended further cuts. Forecasts for Japanese and European growth rates are also given.

IMF trims growth expectations
Article Abstract:
The IMF has reduced its forecast for world economic growth for 1992 to 1.1% from a previous figure of 1.4%. The World Economic Outlook also cut projections for 1993 to 3.1% from 3.6%. Forecasts for the US and other countries are included.
