Small firms gaining an edge in 401(k) plans

Small businesses are being solicited by companies that administer 401(k) or similar salary reduction savings accounts because so few small businesses offer the plans. Administrative costs have declined to make the plans more affordable for small businesses. The plans can be incentives for employees.

A tax break probably not worth taking
Article Abstract:
Congress has suspended the excise tax on withdrawals of over $160,000 from the 401(k) plan accumulations and this may make induce people to withdraw funds. Unfortunately any interest generated by the withdrawn funds are not tax deferred. The pros and cons of the three-year window are discussed.
