Congress Gets into the Entrepreneurship Act
Article Abstract:
Representative Chales E. Schumer from New York has introduced the National Entrepreneurship Act, which, if passed, will get the government involved with budding entrepreneurs. He feels that these small growth firms are going to be a big part of the economic picture in coming years, and will be responsible for many jobs. Among the bill's provisions for entrepreneurships are: offering matching grants for state venture capital/royalty finance corporations, encouraging pension fund investments, establishing a loan loss reserve fund to reassure banks, and creating a secondary mortgage market for industrial mortgages. Schumer hopes to have the bill before the full House by the summer of 1984.
