The well-behaved business
Article Abstract:
David Murray is a specialist in business ethics, and he argues that this issue has become topical with some publicised scandals, and concern that ethics were forgotten in the 1980s. The subject is studied at colleges and universities and companies are producing codes of conduct. Some industries create more ethical dilemmas than others, and departments within companies can also be subject to particular pressures. Training should be provided for employees on tackling such issues.

Deeper than the quick fix: what a performance
Article Abstract:
Rapid and simple solutions for management problems may not always be appropriate and the underlying issues need to be examined. Staff performance may be viewed as related to personality, but could be related to other issues including the relationship between the manager and the employee. Performance management includes feedback, but goes beyond this. Performance management can bring long-term rewards and annual appraisals become easier to carry out.
