Test Tube Troubles
Article Abstract:
The biotechnology industry is facing many new challenges ahead. Regulations are expected to delay the introduction of many of the new products being developed. Several of the diagnostic companies are expected to show profits in 1984. Now that the large pharmaceutical companies appreciate biotechnology's potential, they are expected to become competitive with the smaller companies. The greatest threat to the therapeutic and diagnostic products could be in the success of biotechnology. A roster of the major biochemisty firms is provided.
