The Image of Business on Prime Time Television
Article Abstract:
Businessmen maintain a negative image on television. The politics of business are reflected in the politics of television. Studies conducted by Ben Stein and the Media Institute are analyzed as to content, results, and methods. Television portrays capitalism as an entire system in a negative light. Answers as to why this happens are found in the attitudes of writers and in the way television wins audiences. The idea that media is a business itself is important. Television does exactly what business wants it to do.
