The management of resources and the resource of management
Article Abstract:
A combination of resource-based theory and dynamic capability may be used to create strategies on how a firm can manage its resources to maintain a competitive advantage. Resource-based theory involves the continuous search for rent based on returns from resources minus the costs. Meanwhile, dynamic capabilities involve the adaptability of firms to environmental changes using research and development. A synthesis of these two theories emphasizes innovation as a means of gaining advantage.
