Ken Henry, secretary of Treasury in the Australian Public Service, is termed to be Australia's best and most influential public servant. Secretary of Treasury, the most powerful position in the Australian Public Service, is the main source of advice to the Government on economic issues, and Henry, who was instrumental in the development and implementation of the new tax system, is treasurer Peter Costello's right-hand man.
