Tough luck ahead for gaming sector

An Australian Productivity Commission investigation into the gambling industry may result in limits on gaming machines and decreasing profits for gaming companies. Tabcorp Holdings Ltd. has seen its share price fall from a 1999 high of $13.45 to about $10, and TAB's stock has decreased from $3.58 to $2.67. The Productivity Commission will issue its final report in November 1999.
